PRAYAGRAJ, Nov. 10 -- A three-year-old girl was killed after being run over by a pickup truck on Sunday afternoon near Sultanpur Khas village under Mauaima police station area in trans-Ganga area of Prayagraj, police said. According to reports, Pihu, the three-year-old daughter of Anil Kumar Patel, a resident of Sultanpur Khas, was playing in front of her house when a pickup driver reversed the vehicle near Sahu Weighbridge and accidentally ran over her. The child died on the spot. Before family members and neighbours could intervene, the driver fled the scene with the vehicle. Police reached the site soon after receiving information, took possession of the body, and sent it for post-mortem examination. SHO of Mauaima police station Pankaj Awasthi said that the entire incident was captured on CCTV. Based on the written complaint and the vehicle's registration number, a case has been registered against the driver, he added. Family members, including the grieving parents Anil Kumar and Sheela Devi, are devastated by the sudden loss. Adding to the family's sorrow, it was revealed that Pihu's great-grandmother, Summi Devi (80), had passed away the previous evening. Most of the family members had gone to Phaphamau for her cremation, leaving the women occupied with household chores when the accident occurred....
