Three private varsities to come up in Muz'nagar, Barabanki, Mathura
LUCKNOW, Aug. 8 -- The state cabinet on Thursday gave its approval to the proposal for the establishment of three new private universities in UP. These are-the Vedanta University, Muzaffarnagar, Bodhisattva University, Barabanki and KD University, Mathura, according to higher education minister Yogendra Upadhyay.
Vedanta University, will be established by the Fateh Chand Charitable Trust on 23.33 acres of land at Hussainpur Bopada village in Khatauli tehsil of Muzaffarnagar, the minister said. A high-level committee had recommended the issuing of a letter of intent at a meeting on December 19, 2024 and the step has now been approved.
For the establishment of Bodhisattva University, Barabanki, 25.31 acres of land has been identified at Gadiya village, Pargana Deva, Nawabganj tehsil in Barabanki district by Bodhisattva Charitable Trust, Lucknow, he said.
For this university, the state government will promulgate the "UP Private University (Third Amendment) Ordinance, 2025". Thereafter, the operating authority letter will be issued, he said.
KD University, Mathura has been proposed to be established by Rajiv Memorial Academic Welfare Society, Mathura, on 50.54 acres of land at Akbarpur village in Chhata tehsil in Mathura district. For this, it has been decided to issue the operating authority letter by promulgating the "UP Private University (Fourth Amendment) Ordinance, 2025" to amend the schedule of UP Private University Act, 2019, Upadhyay said....
