VARANASI, May 7 -- Three members of a family-a woman, her husband, and her father-in-law-died of electrocution near Bhojubir Sabzi Mandi under the Cantt police station area on Tuesday. Police said Preeti Jaiswal, 28, accidentally came in contact with a live wire while spreading clothes on an iron hanger after taking a bath. The wire from a water pump (Tullu) had come in contact with the hanger, resulting in a massive electric shock. Hearing her screams, her husband Sonu Jaiswal, 30, rushed to help but was also electrocuted. Sonu's father, Rajendra Jaiswal, 65, tried to intervene upon hearing the commotion and also suffered a fatal shock. Locals rushed to the scene and managed to turn off the main switch, but all three had died by then. The couple is survived by two daughters-Shivangi, 7, a class one student who was at school at the time of the incident, and Nancy, 4. Deputy commissioner of police, Gomati Zone, Pramod Kumar, visited the site and took stock of the situation. He said the bodies have been sent for post-mortem. htc...
