Three of a family electrocuted in Jhansi
Jhansi, Oct. 9 -- A 27-year-old man, his mother and grandmother were killed after coming in contact with 11,000 kV high-tension wire here on Wednesday.
The incident took place in Azadpur area of the city under Prem Nagar police station. Praveen Sahu was cleaning the balcony of his three-storey house and took out an iron rod which accidentally came in contact with the high-tension electric wire running in front of the house.
Praveen got electrocuted and, in a bid to save him, his mother Ranjana, 50, rushed and cried for help. She too got electrocuted. Praveen's 75-year-old grandmother Vimla also rushed to help the duo and got electrocuted.
All the three were rushed to the Jhansi medical college where they died during treatment. Confirming the deaths, SSP Jhansi BBGTS Murthy said that all the three victims died due to electrocution.
There was a gloomy situation at Praveen's house while his father Dayashankar and younger brother Harshit were speechless by the loss of three lives.
A 28-year-old woman died of electrocution while cleaning her house in the Banthra area of Lucknow on Wednesday morning, police said.The deceased was identified as Nidhi alias Sakshi Singh. Her husband, Rohit Singh, had gone to drop their son and daughter at school.
When Rohit returned, he found Nidhi lying unconscious inside the house, having come in contact with an electric decorative light. One of her hands was severely burnt, and she had died on the spot, police said....
