Three killed in expressway crash near Bangarmau
Kanpur, May 26 -- Three people were killed and another critically injured when a car rammed into the rear of a truck on the Agra-Lucknow Expressway near Rasulpur Mujhgawan village under Bangarmau police station limits on Sunday noon.
As per Unnao police, the car was travelling from Lucknow to Agra when it collided with the truck. Rescue operations were carried out by the Uttar Pradesh Expressways Industrial Development Authority team, which extricated four injured persons from the mangled vehicle. All were rushed to the hospital in Bangarmau, where doctors declared three brought dead. The deceased are yet to be formally identified. The lone survivor, identified as 26-year-old Arushi, daughter of Ajit Kumar Upadhyay from Ghaziabad, was referred to Tirwa Medical College in Kannauj in a critical condition.
Initial reports suggest Arushi was accompanied by Sanjay and two others during the journey. The cause of the collision remains unclear.
SP Unnao Deepak Bhuker said police have launched a probe and are working to identify the deceased. Proceedings are underway to ascertain the exact sequence of events leading to the crash. htc...
