Kanpur, May 26 -- Three people were killed and a woman critically injured when a car rammed into the rear of a truck on the Agra-Lucknow Expressway near Rasulpur Mujhgawan village under Bangarmau police station limits on Sunday noon. According to Unnao police, the car was travelling from Lucknow towards Agra when it collided with the truck under unexplained circumstances. Rescue operations were carried out by the UPEIDA team, which extricated four injured persons from the mangled vehicle. All were rushed to the hospital in Bangarmau, where doctors declared three brought dead. The deceased are yet to be formally identified. The lone survivor, identified as 26-year-old Arushi, daughter of Ajit Kumar Upadhyay from Ghaziabad, was referred to Tirwa Medical College in Kannauj for further treatment. She is said to be in critical condition. Initial reports suggest Arushi was accompanied by Sanjay and two others during the journey. The cause of the collision remains unclear. SP Unnao Deepak Bhuker said police have launched an investigation and are working to identify the deceased.
