Bahraich, Sept. 24 -- Three people lost their lives in a tragic road accident on Tuesday morning when a speeding pickup truck crushed two women and a farmer on the Bahraich-Balrampur highway, under the jurisdiction of Dargah Police Station. According to circle officer (city) Pahup Singh, the accident occurred around 6:30 a.m. near the Suhapara intersection. The victims were rushed to Bahraich Medical College in critical condition, where doctors declared them dead. The deceased were identified as Rajesh Kumar, 52, a resident of Suhapara, who was riding his bicycle to the fields, and Santosh Kumari, 55, and Kanti Devi, 52, residents of Gaura Ashoka village, who had gone for a morning walk. Eyewitnesses said the two women were standing by the roadside conversing when the pickup truck, coming at high speed from Balrampur, hit them along with Rajesh Kumar. The impact threw them onto the road, leaving them grievously injured. Station officer (Dargah) Ramagya Singh confirmed that the pickup truck had been seized, while the driver fled the scene.
