Three injured in Pratapgarh lightning strikes
PRAYAGRAJ, Oct. 2 -- Three people were injured in two separate lightning strikes on Tuesday and Wednesday in Pratapgarh, with a woman currently in critical condition. Officials confirmed on Wednesday that due to the severity of her injuries, she has been referred to Prayagraj for further treatment.
According to reports, around 3 pm on Tuesday, Guddi Devi, 35, wife of Kailash Yadav from Purnemau village under Hathigawan police jurisdiction, was releasing cattle in an orchard when she was struck by lightning. Sachin Yadav, 15, son of Pawan Yadav from the same village, was also injured in the incident.
In a separate incident on Wednesday at approximately 10 am, Ajit Maurya, 15, son of Ramesh Maurya, also from Purnemau village, was injured when lightning struck near his home during rainfall.
All three were admitted to the Community Health Centre (CHC) for immediate treatment. While the two boys have since stabilised, Guddi Devi's condition remains critical. She was transferred to Swaroop Rani Hospital in Prayagraj for specialised care.
