Lucknow, July 16 -- The PGI Police arrested three members of a bike-lifting gang and recovered seven stolen motorcycles from their possession. "The accused Suraj, 19, from Lucknow, Prince Yadav, 19, from Gonda, and Shailendra Yadav, 21, from Unnao - were nabbed near Utrethia railway station under the Barauli flyover," said DCP South Nipun Agarwal. The three were booked under multiple sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). What makes the case stand out is the background of the gang leader, Suraj, who is reportedly a Class 5 dropout and worked in shuttering (construction work). Despite his limited education, Suraj orchestrated multiple thefts with precision and had even built a network to dispose of the stolen vehicles. "According to the police, the gang specifically targeted unattended motorcycles parked outside liquor shops, markets, and residential areas. Once stolen, Suraj confessed to selling the bikes at throwaway prices as low as Rs.4,000 to Rs.5,000 to a local bike mechanic named Asif, who is now absconding," the DCP added. Police have launched a search to nab Asif, who is believed to be a key link in the illegal vehicle disposal chain.htc...
