Three held for woman's murder in Jhansi village
Jhansi, July 6 -- Three people have been arrested for the murder of a 55-year-old woman in Kumariya of this district last month, police said.
Two of the suspects are sisters, Pooja Jatav, 35, and Kamini, who allegedly conspired and eliminated Sushila Devi with their male friend Anil Verma, police said, adding the reason for the murder was an attempt to grab land belonging to Sushila's family.
Police said Ajay Kumar Rajpoot, the victim's husband, found the body in his house after returning from Gwalior on June 24. A case was lodged against the incident based on his complaint.
Police said Pooja, who was earlier booked in a criminal case, shared a child with Ajay's son Santosh.
The police found that Pooja was the mastermind behind the crime. She hatched the plan to kill Sushila for which she took the help of Kamini and Anil. She had invited Ajay and Santosh to Gwalior, where she had been living with her sister. According to police, Kamini and Anil were in Kumariya at the time and they allegedly killed Sushila.
