PRAYAGRAJ, April 26 -- Three people have been arrested for allegedly kidnapping, murdering an e-rickshaw driver, and throwing his body in Sangam. On Friday, the victim's family members created a ruckus at Dhoomanganj police station, demanding swift action. Based on their complaint, a named FIR was registered against three accused. All three have been taken into custody and are being interrogated, said police officials on Friday. The body has been sent for a postmortem examination after being recovered from Sangam, they added. As per the complaint, the victim, Virendra Patel, 27, a resident of Jayantinagar locality, earned his livelihood by driving an e-rickshaw. According to the family members, he left home with his vehicle on Thursday but did not return that night.In the morning, his e-rickshaw was found abandoned near a petrol pump located some distance from the house. Petrol pump workers informed that three youths of Jayantipur including Guddu, Vishal and Vinod had parked the e-rickshaw and left in the night. When the family members went to the houses of the three youths and inquired about Virendra, they feigned ignorance. After this, the family members reached Dhoomanganj police station and started demanding the arrest of the accused and registering of a case of murder against them. The family members alleged that due to an old rivalry, the three accused killed Virendra by drowning him in Sangam....
