VARANASI, June 20 -- Three rural Gaushalas, Madhumakhiya, Bandepur and Bhitkuri are set to become the first in Uttar Pradesh to receive ISO 9001:2015 certification. Recognised for excellence in animal care, nutrition, hygiene, and management, these cow shelters follow international standards. Cattle are fed protein-rich silage, kept cool with fans and sprinklers, and monitored via CCTV. Sick animals are kept in separate enclosures, and Bhitkuri produces vermicompost and cow dung gas. Officials say this initiative not only ensures a healthy environment for stray cattle but also sets a model for better management in other shelters across the state....
