GORAKHPUR, June 17 -- Two brothers and one of their cousins drowned while bathing in the Ghaghra river near Deoria's Barhaj town on Monday morning, police said. The three men were from nearby Mohaddipur in Gorakhpur and had gone to Deoria to celebrate the 15th birthday of their cousin. Bahraj circle officer Anshuman Srivastava said the bodies of Pradeep, 24, his brother Rohit, 22, and their cousin Banti, 20, were recovered from the river and sent for postmortem. On Monday morning, the three, with cousin Rajan, decided to take a bath in the Ghaghra, and reached its banks on bikes around 7 am.. While bathing, they allegedly went deep into the water.
