Three dead, seven hurt in two road mishaps
LUCKNOW, Nov. 24 -- At least three persons, including two children, died and at least seven were injured in two separate road accidents on the city's outskirts on Sunday, police said.
In the first case, a speeding truck allegedly hit an e-rickshaw near Ibrahimganj-Ranikheda in Kakori around 2:30 pm, when a family was returning to Newalganj Maharajpur in Unnao after a wedding. Police said the Haryana-number truck moving toward Mohan Road crashed into the e-rickshaw, throwing all six occupants onto the road. The driver, Shani, 38, of Kewalhaar, and an eight-year-old boy, Vashu, sustained critical injuries and later died during treatment at KGMU Trauma Centre and Lokbandhu Hospital.
A police note said, "Others injured included Shani's cousin Gudiya, 40, his wife Deepu, and two children, Jhanvi, 12, and Manvi, 10."
In the second case, a 38-year-old man died and his wife and two children were critically injured after a speeding car allegedly hit their motorcycle near the Lalpur petrol pump in Nigohan on the Lucknow-Prayagraj national highway. The victim, Sunil Kashyap of Akbarpur Beniganj, was travelling with his wife Sunita and their children, aged 2 and 10, to Todakpur in Rae Bareli when a Delhi-number car rammed their bike.
All four were taken to Mohanlalganj Community Health Centre, where Sunil was declared dead.HTC...
