Three arrested for murder of 16-yr-old boy in Pratapgarh
PRAYAGRAJ, Sept. 15 -- Three people, including the main accused and two others, have been arrested in the murder case of a 16-year-old boy near Prithviganj airport under Kotwali Dehat police station in Pratapgarh, linked to a love affair with a girl from another community in a different village. All three, carrying a reward of Rs.25,000 each, have been sent to jail. Earlier, police had already jailed three accused in the same case.
As per reports, angered by her sister's love affair, two brothers, along with their maternal uncle and some friends, dragged 16-year-old Vikas Patel from his house, beat him and threw him into a well. Some locals who witnessed the assault alerted Vikas' family.
The case was later cracked after police arrested three accused and sent them to jail. However, the main accused had remained absconding.
SP Pratapgarh Dr Anil Kumar had announced a reward of Rs.25000 each for all the absconding accused. SHO of Kotwali Dehat police station Vijaykant Satyarthi, along with special team in-charge Arjun Singh, arrested accused, Kuldeep Vanvasi and Puneet of Matui Namak, from near their residence.
During interrogation, the accused told the police that the deceased used to tease the girl and had taken her photo on his mobile phone. Angered, they planned to teach him a lesson and brought him to a field on a bike. There, Vikas was first beaten and then strangled with a white cloth. When he became unconscious, they threw him into a well, where his mobile phone also fell. Both accused have since been sent to jail.
According to SHO of Dehat police station Vijaykant Satyarthi all the accused in the case had been sent to jail....
