PRAYAGRAJ, Aug. 5 -- Thieves broke into a house in Keshavpur area under Puramufti police station here late on Sunday night. When the family raised an alarm, the thieves not only attacked them with bricks and stones but also fired in the air before fleeing. In the incident, three persons, including two women were injured. On receiving information police reached the spot and investigated the incident and registered a case on the basis of the complaint given by the victim. The cops are also probing the CCTV footage for any clue. According to the complainant Golu, a resident of Keshavpur, some thieves broke into his house on Sunday night. The family woke up on hearing the sound of breaking the back door of the house and raised an alarm. Hearing the noise, three to four thieves ran out of the house and started throwing bricks and stones at the victims. The accused fired in the air to spread panic. Golu's mother, sister and grandfather were injured in the incident. On hearing the gunshot, people from nearby areas came out of their houses. However, by then the thieves had fled.
