The needy got Rs.860 cr through CM's discretionary fund
LUCKNOW, April 6 -- The Uttar Pradesh government released Rs.860 crore under the Chief Minister's Discretionary Fund during the 2025-26 financial year to over 50,000 beneficiaries from weaker sections of society.
The fund was released to the beneficiaries through public representatives belonging to various political parties. It shows not only the wide scope of assistance but also reflects the government's humanitarian approach and priorities, said a state government spokesperson.
The most significant aspect of the entire process was that assistance distribution was carried out without any discrimination. Whether requests came from representatives of the ruling party or the opposition, from urban or rural areas, or from economically weaker sections or families facing sudden crises, help was extended to every needy individual with equal sensitivity, he said.
Under the discretionary fund, assistance ranged from Rs.50,000 to major approvals exceeding Rs.3 crore in some cases....
