India, Sept. 26 -- The coronavirus pandemic is one of those historical moments when our past, present and future seem to collide. The fear of dying from an unknown enemy has changed our modes of thinking, living and being, even as lockdowns and state surveillance have violated fundamental human rights. The pandemic has engendered a moral crisis. But it is the human capacity for empathy and compassionate justice that enables the possibility of human solidarity.
