Text for children, young adults in focus as book fair kicks off
Lucknow, March 2 -- Several books that aim to spread awareness among kids and young adults about several religious teachings, were on display at the 9-day Lucknow Book Fair that began at Ravindralaya Lawns here on Saturday. These books have pictorial depictions of gods, goddesses and religious practices. From the stories of Lord Ganesha, Lord Krishna, the Vedas and the Puranas to those on the significance of observing 'roza', and lessons from Hadith and the Quran, the fair has it all under one roof as many books look to target young readers. Among the many stalls, the one by Children Book Trust stands out. "We have picture books of short stories and the ones on mythology, folklore and famous personalities for kids between 5 and 15 years," said Ritesh Pandey, a representative at the stall. The fair will also spike the interest of adolescents who love anime shows such as Naruto, Chainsaw and Dragon Ball Z. For millennials missing out on their school days, a complete set of Archies, Amar Chitra Katha and Tinkle are also on sale....
