LUCKNOW, Sept. 11 -- The Terai areas of the state may see good rain in the next 48 hours, weathermen said on Wednesday. However, no rainfall activity is expected anywhere else in Uttar Pradesh. A low-pressure area that arose from the northwest Bay of Bengal, passing through central India, transformed into a depression over southern Rajasthan, due to which the monsoon trough moved south from its normal position. As a result, there was no active weather system in the state for the last few days, and there was no effective rainfall in most parts.However, with the depression moving towards Pakistan, the eastern end of the monsoon trough shifted north from its normal position and passed through Barabanki in the state and in view of the possibility of it shifting further north in the coming days, there is a possibility of moderate rain with heavy rain at some places in the Terai districts of Nepal on September 11, which is likely to reach the UP districts bordering Uttarakhand on September 12. Thereafter, there is a possibility of partial reduction in it again from September 13. However, during this period, except for the northern Terai region of the state, there is no possibility of any effective rainfall in other areas and the weather is likely to remain dry and limited to sporadic rainfall....
