India, Oct. 10 -- The Telangana high court on Thursday ordered an interim stay on the local body elections in the state with 42% reservation to other backward classes (OBC), hours after the state poll commission issued a notification commencing the process of the first phase of elections. People familiar with the matter said a division bench of the HC also stayed the government's September 26 order providing 42% reservations to OBCs. Allowing the petitions filed challenging the reservation, the bench asked the state to file a counter affidavit within four weeks.
