Technical snag delays Lko-Kolkata flight carrying UP deputy CMs
LUCKNOW, March 10 -- A technical snag delayed an IndiGo flight bound for Kolkata at Lucknow airport for over an hour on Monday morning, with Uttar Pradesh deputy chief ministers Brijesh Pathak and Keshav Prasad Maurya among the passengers seated on board. The two leaders were travelling to Kolkata for a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) strategy meeting on preparations for the forthcoming West Bengal assembly polls, where senior party leaders and organisational office-bearers from across the country were expected to deliberate on poll strategy. The flight (6E-505), scheduled to depart Chaudhary Charan Singh International Airport at 7:40 am for Kolkata's Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International Airport, was ready for takeoff when the pilot detected a technical issue. Following standard safety procedures, the pilot alerted Air Traffic Control and requested a technical inspection. Passengers were asked to remain seated while an engineering team assessed the problem, officials said. After nearly an hour of checks, engineers cleared the aircraft and it finally took off at 8:59 am, landing safely in Kolkata at around 10:17 am. Officials said the delay was due to a precautionary technical check, with passenger safety remaining the airline's top priority.htc...
