Tech & training to power Panchayats forward
Lucknow, Aug. 23 -- The additional secretary of the union ministry of Panchayati Raj, Sushil Kumar Lohani, on Friday urged officials to make training programmes more result-oriented. He said this would help Panchayat representatives and employees gain the skills needed for improved governance. Lohani was reviewing various schemes and training initiatives under the Rashtriya Gram Swaraj Abhiyan (RGSA) during his visit to Lucknow.
He appreciated the efforts of Uttar Pradesh in strengthening rural governance. He said that setting up gram secretariats and providing Aadhaar services at the Panchayat level were historic steps to bring government services closer to villagers....
