PRAYAGRAJ, Nov. 14 -- An assistant teacher allegedly thrashed a Class 4 Dalit girl student of a PM Shri Vidyalaya under Kokhraj police station area of Kaushambi for resisting "indecent touch", police said, adding the teacher allegedly mistreated her father who questioned his behaviour. Based on a complaint by the father of the student, an FIR was registered under relevant sections of the BNS and the accused was also booked under the SC/ST Act. Sirathu circle officer Satyendra Tiwari has been tasked with investigating the case, officials said. As per reports, the complaint, a resident of Kokhraj area in Kaushambi, alleged that on November 10, his daughter was touched indecently at the school by assistant teacher Kuldeep Sahu. When she offered resistance, she was beaten up and kicked, the complainant alleged. When her father questioned the behaviour of the teacher the following day, he was allegedly misbehaved with. The gram pradhan complained to Sirathu district education officer (BEO) Pragya Singh, while the girl's father filed a police complaint. The BEO on Wednesday recorded the statements of the girl, her parents, and other students. "The accused is currently admitted in a hospital in Prayagraj. His statement will also be recorded before taking any action," the BEO said....
