Teacher, wife among three held for duping man in Lucknow
LUCKNOW, April 11 -- Lucknow Police has arrested three members of a fraud gang, including a government school teacher and his wife, for allegedly duping a man of Rs.5 lakh by handing over fake gold and fleeing with the cash. The accused were arrested in the early hours of Friday following a joint operation by the surveillance team and Mal police.
The case relates to an FIR lodged on April 5 at Mal police station under Sections 309(4), 318(4) and 317(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). Complainant Subhash Chandra Maurya, a resident of Kushmaura village, had alleged that unidentified persons fled with a bag containing around Rs.5 lakh kept on his scooter, using a car bearing registration number UP32 QP 8047.
Police during the investigation, electronic surveillance and local inputs helped identify the suspects. Based on a tip-off, the police intercepted the accused near Kakarabad underpass and arrested them on Friday....
