PRAYAGRAJ, May 15 -- In the suicide case of TCS recruitment manager Manav Sharma in Agra, two of the accused currently in jail have filed bail applications before the Allahabad High Court. The applications were moved by Manav's mother-in-law Poonam Sharma and sister-in-law through their lawyer.Manav's father, Narendra Kumar Sharma, had filed a case under Section 108 (abetment of suicide) of the Bhartiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) against Manav's wife Nikita, father-in-law Nripendra Kumar Sharma, mother-in-law Poonam Sharma, and two sisters-in-law. The FIR was lodged at Sadar Bazar police station in Agra on February 28, 2025. Manav, a resident of Defence Colony in Agra, died by suicide on February 24, 2025. Before taking the step, he recorded a video blaming his wife and in-laws. All accused, including Nikita Sharma, are in jail. Last week, police submitted a chargesheet in Agra court, which includes statements from 17 witnesses, as well as Manav's sister, mother, and father.The case was listed before the high court on Tuesday but could not be heard due to lack of time.
