Meerut, Aug. 21 -- police have solved the mystery behind the unidentified body found in Bamanpuri village and arrested two men accused of murdering the man. The man was taxi driver Ajit Singh and the crime was a result of a botched car robbery. Superintendent of police (rural), Tejveer Singh, said that four days ago, the body of a man with his throat slit was discovered in the forests of Bamanpuri village under the Chhatari police station limits. The victim was later identified as Ajit Singh, a resident of Wazidpur village under Narkhi police station in Firozabad district. Following the discovery, Ajit's father, Rajendra Pal, lodged a complaint accusing four men from his own village - Abhaypal Singh alias Sanjeev, Rahul, Rinku, and Puneet alias Amit - of murder. However, police investigations and technical evidence did not support their involvement. During further inquiry, investigators zeroed in on two suspects: Kuldeep, a resident of Keeratpur village under Chhatari police station, and Monu Chauhan of Chikawathi village under the Lodha police station in Aligarh district. Acting on a tip-off, Chhatari police arrested the duo on the road leading to Keeratpur. During interrogation, the accused confessed to plotting the crime. They revealed that Ajit Singh, who worked as a taxi driver in Noida, had been targeted due to their financial distress. On the night of August 15, they booked his car with the intention of looting it. When Ajit resisted, they attacked him with a knife, slit his throat, and dumped his body in the Bamanpuri forest. Reportedly, both the accused were remanded to judicial custody and sent to jail....
