LUCKNOW, Sept. 7 -- Tax-related issues dominated the Sampoorna Samadhan Diwas held by the Lucknow Municipal Corporation (LMC) here on Saturday. The event was chaired by mayor Sushma Kharkwal. Residents raised complaints about broken drains, encroachment, and civic problems, with most cases related to property tax. LMC officials said 45 tax complaints and one encroachment case were registered from all eight city zones. Zone-6 recorded the highest number of tax cases at 10, followed by zone-8 with 8, and zone-7 with 7. Zones 1 and 5 had six complaints each, zone-3 had four, zone-2 had three, and Zone-4 had one. The only encroachment complaint came from zone-5. Mayor Kharkwal asked officials to act quickly and fairly on all complaints. She said the programme builds public trust and helps improve communication between citizens and the municipal body. "Every complaint must be handled with honesty and urgency so people have faith in the system," she added. LMC officials said such events offer immediate solutions and also highlight recurring issues in different wards.htc...
