Lucknow, Sept. 25 -- The three-day Anandotsav, in memory of Raja Anand Singh of Mankapur, former Member of Parliament, began at Colvin Taluqdars' College on Wednesday. Students from 18 schools participated in the cultural congregation which was inaugurated by deputy chief minister Brajesh Pathak and minister of state for cooperatives JPS Rathore. Pathak reminisced his association with Raja Anand Singh, while Rathore urged students to imbibe values and character alongside education. On the first day, English Debate, Indian Music, Monoacting, Turncoat, JAM, Painting, and Creative Writing were held. In the English Debate Insha Haider of Unity College stood first followed by Triyakshal Tiwari of St Francis' College. In JAM, Snighda Naysa Singh and Runaisha Ehsan St John Bosco School stood first while Aarav Pandey and Atharva Tiwari of St Francis' College won second prize. In Mono Acting, Mohd Aqudas Khan of St. John Bosco School and Kartik Shukla of Colvin Taluqdars' College stood first and second. In Turncoat, Aarish Srivastava of St Francis' College and Tuba Ahmad of Unity College got top spots, while P Darshana of Scholars Home and Kaustubh of Jagran Public School stood first and second in Painting. Jagran Public School stood first in Junior solo, junior duet music, group singing, senior solo and senior duet music competition while GCRG International School won the senior group singing competition. htc...
