Suspended lecturer dies by suicide, blames SOG
Jaipur, Feb. 6 -- A 35-year-old lecturer in Jaipur, suspended by the education department a year ago, died by suicide on Wednesday night leaving behind a note accusing the special operation group (SOG) of framing him in several paper leak cases, police said.
Inspector of Jaipur's Mahesh Nagar police station Suresh Yadav, said, "The victim is a resident of Sanchore. He was suspended a year ago after SOG found him appearing in at least five government recruitment examinations as a dummy candidate since 2021. After his suspension, he was preparing for some other government jobs and had been staying in a rented accommodation in Mahesh Nagar with his wife and three children. Few minutes before his death, he sent his last note to a friend in which he accused some SOG officials of harassing him and framing him in some false cases."
According to the officials, his name was in the charge sheets of many cases that are being probed by SOG including Rajasthan Entrance Eligibility Test (REET)- 2021, REET-2022, School Lecturer exam 2024, etc. "He has also been absconding in three of the cases," said Yadav.
His body was found on a railway track in Mahesh Nagar three hours after his death, said police. The inspector said that the deceased took a snap of his last handwritten note and sent it to a friend, who later uploaded it on social media upon hearing news of his death.
"In his last note, he accused two SOG officials from Ajmer of constantly harassing him for the past few years and pressuring him to pay bribe. He claimed that he is innocent and is not 'much involved' in any of those cases although he said he made some 'mistakes' before 2022," Yadav added.
According to the police, the victim also stated that his name was not there in any FIR but it was later included in the charge sheets of all those cases.
"He said that he was detained from an exam centre where he went to appear for his own paper. Later, he was also summoned in the police station six to seven times for interrogation," Yadav said, quoting from the suicide note. Police have sent the body for autopsy at the mortuary of Sawai Man Singh Hospital in Jaipur.
"The deceased's family have also submitted a memorandum to lodge a complaint against the officers. We are investigating the matter and also asked for details about those cases from SOG. Necessary action will be taken accordingly," Yadav said.
SOG additional director general, Vishal Bansal said, "The matter is under investigation. We will check the case details."...
