AGRA, Feb. 14 -- Suspended Bareilly city magistrate Alankar Agnihotri on Friday announced the formation of a new political party that he said would contest elections. Agnihotri, who was in Vrindavan, offered prayers at the Banke Bihari temple and also raised objections to the alleged neglect of the local Goswami community in the proposed Banke Bihari Corridor project. He had earlier announced his resignation in protest against the new University Grants Commission (UGC) equity rules and was subsequently suspended. On Friday, he reached the residence of Anand Ballabh Goswami, national president of the Rashtriya Brahman Sewa Sangh, and attended a meeting organised there to oppose the UGC regulations.
