PRAYAGRAJ, June 14 -- Due to the ongoing heatwave in Uttar Pradesh, the summer break for students of classes up to 8 has been extended till June 30. This applies to both government and private schools across the state. The secretary of the basic education council, Surendra Kumar Tiwari, issued this order on Friday. Instructions have been sent to all Basic Shiksha Adhikaris (BSAs). Earlier, the summer holidays were scheduled from May 20 to June 15. However, because of the extreme heat, students will now return to school on July 1, said Praveen Kumar Tiwari, BSA of Prayagraj.
