Suggestions sought from farmers to boost their income, protect environment
VARANASI, Sept. 14 -- Suggestions were sought from farmers towards changing the nature of agriculture in the next 22 years so that their income can be increased along with environmental protection during a programme "Samartha UP Developed UP @ 2047" held at Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Kallipur, here on Saturday.
KV Raju, economic advisor to the UP CM, was the chief guest. Raj Shekhar, MD, UP Jal Nigam (Rural), Dr Prem Kumar Gautam, associate professor, Dr Ram Manohar Lohia Vishwavidyalaya, Lucknow, Padma Shri Chandra Shekhar Singh and Varanasi CDO Himanshu Nagpal also talked to farmers.
Farmers from all development blocks of Varanasi and the team of KVK agricultural scientists and agriculture department officers were also present. Amit Singh, director, FPO at Mahatma Gandhi Kashi Vidyapeeth, suggested providing sales points for organic products....
