PRAYAGRAJ, Nov. 28 -- The decapitated body of a student from the North Regional Institute of Printing Technology (NRIPT) in Shivkuti was found on the railway track under Utraon police station area on Tuesday morning. The student had left the college hostel at around 7 am and was found near the Jagatpur railway crossing about two-and-a-half hours later on November 25. The police sent the body to the mortuary as unclaimed, as the identity was not immediately known. The family suspects murder, saying the circumstances of his death are suspicious. The student lived alone in the hostel, and his mobile phone was missing. Police are investigating his mobile call details and the open hostel room. According to the SHO of Utraon police station, Pritam Kumar Tiwari, the body was recovered in a badly damaged state. "The parents are also not able to tell the exact reason of death as no suicide note was found on his person or in his room. More clarity in the case would surface on receipt of the postmortem report," he added. The postmortem examination conducted indicated that the student died due to excessive bleeding.
