LUCONOW, March 14 -- A 21-year-old BSc student died after a speeding unidentified vehicle rammed her scooter in the Madiaon police station area of Lucknow on Friday evening. The driver fled after hitting the scooter The victim, who was returning home from the market, suffered critical injuries and later died during treatment, police said. According to police, the incident took place near Yadav Chauraha on IIM Road. The victim has been identified as Khushi Shukla (21), a resident of New Azad Nagar in the Kakori police station area of Kanpur. She was living with her maternal relatives in Madiaon along with her younger sister, a second-semester BSc student at a private college. Khushi's maternal uncle, Anmol Awasthi, said that she had gone to the market around 5 pm on Thursday for shopping. While she was returning home on her scooter, an unidentified speeding vehicle hit her vehicle. The police reached the spot and informed the family members through her mobile phone before shifting her to Trauma Centre for treatment. However, she succumbed to her injuries during treatment. Police said the student was not wearing a helmet at the time of the accident, which may have contributed to the severity of the injuries....
