PRAYAGRAJ, Dec. 7 -- A 14-year-old student on his way to school was hit and killed by a train in Karchhana area of the district's trans-Yamuna region on Saturday morning. The victim was identified as Luvkush Yadav, son of Horilal and a resident of Baula's Dera Mungari village under the Industrial Area police station, police said. As per reports, on Saturday morning, Luvkush was riding his bicycle to his school in Karachhana. Running late, he attempted to cross the railway tracks through a narrow path beneath the over bridge. While trying to cross, the bicycle wheel got stuck between the tracks. As Luvkush struggled to free the wheel, a fast-moving train approached. Caught off guard, he was unable to move out of the way in time and was hit by the train, succumbing to his injuries on the spot, witnesses informed the police. Hearing the commotion, villagers rushed to the spot and informed the boy's family. Luvkush's relatives hurried to the railway tracks and brought his body home. Police arrived shortly afterward and requested that the body be sent for a postmortem, but the grieving family firmly refused, SHO Anup Saroj said....
