LUCKNOW, Jan. 25 -- Street plays were organised simultaneously at 54 locations in all 18 divisions of the state on Saturday to the UP Diwas-2026. "'A' category theatre groups nominated by the information and public relations department established a direct and practical dialogue with the general public on government schemes, education, and social issues through performances in various districts", a government spokesperson said. Through these street plays, topics such as health, women's empowerment, eradication of social evils, information about welfare schemes and civic duties were presented in a simple, effective and interactive style. The public was informed about the extensive changes taking place in the field of education in council schools. The theatrical performances explained that safe, joyful and play-based pre-primary education is being provided for children aged 5 to 6 years through Balvatika (early childhood education centres), where child-friendly furniture, outdoor play materials and BALA (building as a learning aid) features have transformed the buildings into learning environments.
