Lucknow, June 21 -- The first downpour brought more than just relief from the heat. Several areas reported prolonged power disruptions after the rain on Thursday night and early Friday morning. In Ahibaranpur on IIM Road and parts of Nirala Nagar, power went out around 1 am on Thursday night due to a cable fault and was only restored at 6 am. The 11kV feeders in Mahanagar also suffered a breakdown. Khurram Nagar faced a more severe disruption in the evening when the 132kV substation supplying the area broke down, leaving residents without power for over four hours. Faizullahganj faced a four-hour outage due to a punctured insulator at the 33kV substation, while parts of Mahanagar near Neera Nursing Home were without electricity for more than five hours following the rain.
