Dehradun, July 13 -- The special task force (STF) of Uttarakhand police conducted a raid at a warehouse in Dehradun and recovered 22,100 fake cigarettes an officer said on Saturday. "Anuklap Singh, manager of Lancer Network company informed the police that some cigarette and tobacco traders in Dehradun were illegally selling cigarettes of Gold Flake and other branded companies, whose warehouses can be found with consignments of fake cigarettes," said Navneet Singh, senior superintendent of police (SSP), STF. "We formed a team under DSP Ankush Mishra. The team along with local police and Lancer Network raided and recovered 22,100 fake cigarettes of Gold Flake from the warehouse of Nishant Traders near Gurudwara, Darshini Gate," he further said. "The packets bore the branding 'Gold Flake', which, upon verification by the company's representative, was confirmed to be fake...A case has been registered against Nishant Garg, owner of the warehouse, under relevant sections of the Copyright Act and BNS," the officer said.
