STF files FIR over illegal arms trade
Agra, May 28 -- The Special Task Force (STF) in Agra has booked seven individuals for irregularities related to the acquisition of arms licences, and the purchase and sale of firearms. A case has been registered at Nai Ki Mandi police station following an inquiry report submitted to the STF headquarters in Lucknow.Deputy commissioner of police (City), Agra Police Commissionerate, Sonam Kumar, said investigation will be carried out by Agra Police, and appropriate action will follow based on the FIR registered.The accused include shooting experts, a media person, and a retired clerk from the arms section of the Agra district headquarters. The case has been filed under Sections 420 (cheating), 467 (forgery), 468 (forgery for the purpose of cheating), and 471 (use of forged documents) of the Indian Penal Code, along with Sections 3, 25, and 30 of the Arms Act, 1959. The complaint was lodged by Yatendra Sharma, an STF inspector in Agra.
According to the complaint filed in July 2024, the accused were involved in the illegal purchase and sale of arms using fake arms licences. They allegedly concealed facts about previously held arms, provided incorrect dates of birth, and submitted false affidavits. htc...
