State-of-the-art hybrid OT coming up at KGMU neurosurgery dept
LUCKNOW, Nov. 9 -- The department of neurosurgery at KGMU here celebrated its 31st Foundation Day and marked 64 years of academic excellence, patient care, and innovation in neurosurgery. Department head Prof BK Ojha, who presented the Annual Departmental Report on the occasion, said the department catered to 30,000 patients annually in the outpatient department, admitted around 3,500 patients per year, and performed nearly 3,000 neurosurgical operations annually, as per an official note on Saturday.
Prof Ojha also announced the upcoming establishment of a state-of-the-art hybrid operation theatre (Hybrid OT) in the department. This advanced facility will significantly benefit patients suffering from aneurysmal bleeds, stroke, and arteriovenous malformations (AVMs) by integrating surgical and endovascular capabilities under one roof, the note stated.
