Dehradun, Aug. 26 -- The state Congress unit will stage a protest march in Dehradun on August 26 in protest against the state government's alleged collusion in poll fraud with the Election Commission, failure to maintain law and order and disaster management, state party chief Karan Mahra said on Monday. The march will begin from the party headquarters at 10.30am and proceed towards the Raj Bhawan, he added. State Congress vice-president (organisation) Suryakant Dhasmana said the state had "slipped into lawlessness" under the current government. "Criminal elements are committing atrocities under the BJP's protection by posing as party members. Women are unsafe as BJP leaders' names crop up in every second crime against them," he added. On disaster management, Dhasmana said the government was indulging in "media management" instead of providing relief to those affected. BJP state media in-charge Manveer Singh Chauhan said that the Congress had become directionless due to successive election defeats. "For its misleading campaigns, the Congress will once again be taught a lesson by the people during the 2027 assembly elections," he added....
