State, industry promise push to skill dev at CSR Roundtable
Lucknow, Dec. 10 -- More than 30 companies took part in a government programme that aimed to strengthen the state's skill and employment ecosystem, here on Tuesday.
Titled "Uttar Pradesh CSR Roundtable 2025 on Skilling and Employability", the meet was organised by the Department of Vocational Education, Skill Development and Entrepreneurship of the state government, aimed to.
IBM, Lenovo, Siemens, and Bajaj presented Letters of Intent for skill development initiatives at the event. Generation India Foundation signed an MoU for employment-oriented training programs, opening new avenues for providing industry-relevant skills to youth.
HCL, Axis Bank, Hyundai, Siemens, Tata Trusts, Reliance Foundation, and Shiv Nadar Foundation also participated in the roundtable.
Participants offered suggestions for aligning CSR interventions with district-level skill needs, improving curriculum to match industry demands, and strengthening training outcomes.
Hari Om, principal secretary, said the state government was undertaking extensive structural reforms to develop skilled workforce. He added the department was implementing a comprehensive action plan to strengthen training infrastructure at the district and block levels, establish smart labs and modern equipment, develop industry-integrated curricula, and enhance training quality to global standards.
Pulkit Khare, the mission director of Uttar Pradesh Skill Development Mission(UPSDM), said CSR-based collaborations would significantly improve the expansion of skill training programmes aligned with industry requirements.
Bhaumik Shah, the founder and CEO of CSRBox, said this roundtable would provide a new direction to purpose-driven partnerships for skill development and employment generation in the state and play a stronger role in achieving the state's Vision 2047 goals....
