Jamshedpur, Dec. 17 -- A stalker allegedly murdered a 25-year-old police chowkidar after she refused to marry him in Jharkhand's East Singhbhum district, police said, adding the accused later died by suicide. According to the police, the victim, Jyotika Hembram, a chowkidar at Potka police station, was on field duty near Chota Sikdi on Hata-Jadugora Road on Tuesday. While she was returning home after duty, the accused, Ganesh Majhi, allegedly intercepted her on the way and attacked her with a knife, police added. During investigation, police said, they identified Majhi as the suspect and launched a search for him. He was found dead at his home, police said. "Hembram had joined as a chowkidar in April and she was in a relationship with Majhi, but later refused to marry him, which is suspected to be the reason behind the incident," Manoj Murmu, officer-in-charge of Potka police station, told reporters. "Majhi was jobless and was constantly pressuring Hembram to quit her job and stay at home, but she repeatedly told him she would not resign. This infuriated him, and he killed her. Further investigation is ongoing," the officer added. Police have sent both bodies for post-mortem examination and probing the case further....
