LUCKNOW, Oct. 21 -- Aiming to set standards for cancer treatment in hospitals in the country and this institute, an MoU was signed between SSCIH and the Quality Council of India (QCI) on Tuesday.

The agreement aims to develop and expand oncology related accreditation standards of National Accreditation Board for Hospitals and Healthcare Providers (NABH) in cancer detection and treatment domain.

"The institute will work and develop standards for treatment of cancer patients," said Prof Shaleen Kumar, director of the SSCIH.

With the standards in place, hospitals will follow a pattern and this would help in early diagnosis and treatment of patients. Till now, all hospitals followed a different pattern for treatment, based upon the experienc...
