LUCKNOW, April 30 -- Lucknow Sports Hostel and SSB notched up big wins to launch their campaign in the 1st Bula Ganguli Memorial Hockey Tournament, at the National College Ground here on Tuesday. Sports Hostel outplayed Under-14 XI by 4-0, whereas SSB crushed National College by 7-0. Azamgarh finished top in the 7th UP State Pencak Silat Championship, winning 16 gold medals. Sultanpur remained runner-up while Jaunpur got third place. Azamgarh won 36 medals, including 16 gold, 8 silver and 12 bronze. Runner-up Sultanpur won a total of 23 medals including 12 gold, 5 silver and 6 bronze. Jaunpur remained at the third position with a total of 14 medals including 10 gold, 2 silver and 2 bronze. Thrilling wins marked the day in the Hemvati Nandan Bahuguna Memorial T20 Tournament as Kook Sports Cricket Club (KSCC) defeated Triumph Cricket Academy (TCA) by 16 runs, whereas Sound Images Cricket Club (SICC) beat Dhruv Cricket Academy (DCA) by 15 runs, at the GCRG Ground here on Tuesday.
