Spurious khoya seized in Haridwar
Haridwar, Sept. 25 -- With the festive season approaching, the Food Safety and Drugs Administration (FSDA) on Wednesday seized 150 kilograms of adulterated khoya during raids at three unlicensed units in Bhagwanpur block of Haridwar district.
FSDA deputy commissioner (Garhwal) Rajendra Singh Rawat said the inspection was carried out in Jhidiyan Fatehpur village after receiving a tip-off. "Our team found khoya being manufactured in unhygienic conditions with skimmed powder and refined oil. None of the units had a licence. At three separate houses, 60 kg, 50 kg and 30 kg of spurious khoya was seized," Rawat said.
