PRAYAGRAJ, March 13 -- A speeding dumper truck struck a girl riding a bicycle and then ran over two students on a motorcycle near the toll plaza in the Salon area of Rae Bareli on the Lucknow-Varanasi highway on Thursday morning. Both boys, residents of the Udaipur police station area in Pratapgarh, died on the spot, while the injured girl from Lalganj is currently undergoing treatment. The dumper driver was later apprehended by police while attempting to flee. According to reports, Mahfooz Khan (20), a resident of Khudabaksh Ka Purwa in the Udaipur area, had come to a coaching centre in Karaya, Salon, along with his friend Mohammad Alam (18). Another student, Sakshi (18), a resident of Matiara Agai in Lalganj, was also attending the same coaching class. Around 10 am, after the class ended, the students left together. Moments later, it rammed into the motorcycle from behind, crushing both Mahfooz and Alam. The two died on the spot due to severe injuries, while Sakshi sustained serious injuries. Police arrived promptly after receiving the information, sent the injured girl to the medical college for treatment, and took the two bodies into custody for postmortem. Meanwhile, the dumper driver, who tried to flee after the collision, was intercepted and detained by the police. Two block employees were killed when a car returning from a wedding overturned after colliding with another four-wheeler late Wednesday night. The incident occurred near Chhenvga Umri Kotila village under Baghrai police station limits in Pratapgarh. Two other passengers, including the village pradhan and the pradhan's representative, were critically injured and later shifted to Medanta Hospital for treatment. The son of Surendra Bahadur Singh, BDO of Baba Belkharnath Dham Block, got married in the Kunda area. After attending the ceremony, block employees Rajmani Tiwari (40) and Sarvesh Gautam (40), along with Prabhakar Singh (44) and village pradhan Rajesh, were returning home in a car. Around midnight, the driver reportedly braked to avoid stray cattle, lost control, and collided head-on with an oncoming vehicle, leaving all four occupants seriously injured. Police along with local residents rushed to the spot. The injured were pulled out of the damaged vehicle and taken to CHC Baghrai, where doctors declared Rajmani Tiwari and Sarvesh Gautam dead. Due to their critical condition, Prabhakar Singh and Pradhan Rajesh were referred to the medical college, and later shifted by their families to Medanta for advanced treatment....
