Agra, Oct. 1 -- The planned visit of a delegation comprising leaders of the Samajwadi Party (SP) to a village in Agra district was foiled by the Agra police on Tuesday. Police did not allow the leader of the delegation and Rajya Sabha MP of SP, Ramjilal Suman, to move out of his house. SP leaders were also restrained in Firozabad by the police amidst sloganeering. On the instructions of SP president, Akhilesh Yadav, an SP delegation was to leave for village Ginjoli, in Khandioli area of Agra district, on Tuesday. They were scheduled to meet a dalit family which allegedly was victimised by another group. Agra police on its part, issued a statement on Monday evening that in the matter of dispute between two groups in village Ginjoli, a compromise was entered into by both groups and there was no issue unresolved. Thus, any effort to test peace and tranquility will be dealt with strictly. Police officials also stated that prohibitory orders under section 163 BNSS were in force. However, SP moved ahead with its planned visit and there were heated arguments between police officials who blocked the passage and Ramjilal Suman, who was not allowed to move out of his house in Agra city. Police officials claimed that the matter in village Ginjoli had been resolved but Ramjilal Suman maintained that dalits in the village were under fear. The police did not give up and confined SP leader within the colony premises. SP leaders expected to join from Firozabad, the nearby district, too were not allowed to leave for Agra....
