LUCKNOW, July 29 -- Sharply reacting to UP women and child development minister Baby Rani Maurya's comment over the derogatory remarks against Samajwadi Party MP Dimple Yadav, the main opposition party on Monday alleged that the ruling party was deliberately raising the issue to divert attention from the ongoing debate on Operation Sindoor in Parliament. Addressing a press conference at the BJP headquarters in Lucknow earlier in the day, Maurya said insult to women, no matter which party they belong to, will not be accepted. "The BJP strongly condemns the statement made about Dimple Yadav, but the Samajwadi Party is not able to defend its woman leader in the greed of its vote bank," she added. Reacting to it, SP spokesperson Ameeque Jamei alleged, "In Uttar Pradesh when every day Dalit daughters being gang-raped, why people like Baby Rani Maurya don't speak on it? When women were raped and paraded naked in Manipur, where was the NDA? The Maulana who made derogatory remarks against SP MP Dimple Yadav ji is a member of BJP." "This issue is deliberately raked up to divert the attention from the ongoing debate on Operation Sindoor in Parliament," he said. On Monday, SP leader Mohd Ikhlaq gave a written complaint at Hazratganj police station in Lucknow against Maulana Sajid Rashidi for his alleged derogatory remarks against SP MP Dimple Yadav during a TV debate. Earlier on Sunday evening, an FIR was registered against Maulana Sajid Rashidi for allegedly making objectionable, inflammatory, and misogynistic comments against the SP MP. The complaint was lodged by one Pravesh Yadav of Gangotri Lake View Apartment here.htc...
